General Questions
Q. What is Verulink?
Verulink is a secure multi-signature (multi-sig) cross-chain bridge that facilitates the transfer of ETH, USDC, and USDT between the Ethereum and Aleo blockchains.
Q. Why should I use Verulink?
Verulink enables you to leverage the unique advantages of both Ethereum and Aleo, such as Aleo’s privacy features and Ethereum’s smart contract functionality, while ensuring secure and efficient cross-chain transactions.
Q. Is Verulink safe to use?
Yes, Verulink employs robust security measures, including multi-signature verification, geo-distributed Attestors, decentralized authority, and compliance with regulatory standards to ensure transaction security.
Using Verulink
Q. How do I bridge assets from Ethereum to Aleo?
Lock your assets (ETH, USDC, USDT) on Ethereum’s Token Contract, specify an Aleo address for minting, and the Attestors will verify and relay the transaction to Aleo, where wrapped assets will be minted.
Q. How do I bridge assets from Aleo to Ethereum?
Burn your wrapped assets on Aleo’s Token Contract, specify an Ethereum address for unlocking, and the Attestors will verify and relay the transaction to Ethereum, where the original assets will be unlocked. For the security measure of the Bridge, you can only burn 10% of your wrapped assets on Aleo back to Ethereum within 24 hours (Subject to change in the future).
Q. What assets can I transfer using Verulink?
You can transfer ETH, USDC, and USDT between Ethereum and Aleo. On Aleo, these assets will be wrapped as vETH, vUSDC, and vUSDT.
Fees and Limits
Q. What are the fees for using Verulink?
Currently there’s no fees required for using Verulink. Zero Fees.
Q. Are there any limits on the amount of assets I can bridge?
Yes, there may be limits imposed on the amount of assets that can be bridged to prevent system overload and ensure security. These limits will be specified during the transaction process.
Security and Compliance
Q. How does Verulink ensure transaction security?
Verulink uses multi-signature verification, requiring multiple Attestors to sign off on transactions, geo-distributed Attestors to reduce the risk of simultaneous compromise, and permissioned access to maintain blacklists of malicious addresses.
Q. Is Verulink compliant with regulatory standards?
Yes, Verulink adheres to regulatory standards, including OFAC compliance, to ensure that all transactions are lawful and do not involve blacklisted addresses.
Technical Details
Q. What are Attestors and what role do they play in Verulink?
Attestors are dedicated nodes that monitor and verify transactions on both Ethereum and Aleo chains. They sign and relay messages between chains using a multi-signature scheme to ensure transaction authenticity and consensus.
Q. How are assets wrapped and unwrapped on Aleo?
When bridging assets from Ethereum to Aleo, the original assets are locked on Ethereum and wrapped assets are minted on Aleo. When bridging back, the wrapped assets are burned on Aleo and the original assets are unlocked on Ethereum.
